I didn’t know I needed a Sikorsky UH-60L “Black Hawk” helicopter until I saw the listing on Controller.com and, yeah, that’s the corporate helicopter for me. Sorry This is the ultimate restomod for the air, sorry Eurocopter EC120.

KEY DETAILS
YEAR:
2007

HOURS: 2,200
PRICE: $5,995,000

JetLease and Arista Aviation out of Alabama have apparently been selling these for a while now, but this is the first I’ve seen it. The UH-60 is famously the helo you see in films when the government swoops in, but since 1979 when the Sikorsky-designed helicopter went into service that’s been basically accurate.

These are large helicopters and are designed to carry numerous soldiers as well as their gear. Variants of the UH are abundant and include versions for special forces, medical evacuation, and even a special stealth version used to raid Osama Bin Laden’s compound. This makes them kind of perfect for civilian aviation.

In the video the company put out you can see what a Black Hawk looks like post modification. I don’t love the paint choice as it’s very modern-corporate helicopter and it seems a shame to have a Black Hawk that isn’t either painted solid black or some kind of super whacky color.

The particular model for sale lists its airframe manufacture date as 2007, though the one in the video used a 1981 vintage UH-60A (this makes sense as the UH-60L first started production in 1989). If you want a UH-60A, JetLease is listing one for $3.3 million, which seems like a good discount.
