Cross Creek Pictures, a premiere independent feature film finance and development production company, has strategically entered the non-scripted television space after delivering multiple successes across the feature film world. Most recently, Cross Creek produced and financed the star-studded and critically acclaimed The Trial of Chicago 7 for Netflix.

Cross Creek and TangentVector, an award-winning creative agency and television company known for APEX: The Story of the Hypercar, Proving Grounds for NBC Sports and the creation of the /DRIVE Network for YouTube, have agreed to partner on upcoming non-scripted projects in the automotive and transportation space.

Partnership will cover feature-length documentaries, series television, and new platforms.

The third documentary in the successful APEX film series is in development with Cross Creek and TangentVector, as well as a global automotive show with two of the most revered names in the automotive world.

Cross Creek and TangentVector have entered into a multi-year development partnership. One of the most proven automotive content companies in the industry, TangentVector brings their award-winning team and experience to Cross Creek.

The partnership is a broad ranging, multi-platform arrangement with multiple projects in development for both television and documentary, including development of multiple television series and the third documentary in the award-winning APEX series, which was created by TangentVector.

“The automotive space has always piqued our interest not only from a business perspective, but also from a personal passion standpoint,” said Todd Thompson, President of Cross Creek Television, a division of Cross Creek Media. “We are incredibly proud of Rush and since have been looking for ways to create more elevated automotive content for audiences who also share our same passion for motorsports. TangentVector brings a distinguished cinematic quality and intrigue to all of their projects, so we knew this partnership would be the perfect match as we enter this space.”

Cross Creek has a record of creating some of the best and most beloved films in recent memory, including the sleeper blockbuster Black Swan and the thrilling motorsports film Rush. Their unique approach to creating projects covers a range of genres unified by a commitment to sharing fascinating stories backed by high quality production.

“We love what Cross Creek has created and I can’t think of a better group of people in the industry to work with,” said JF Musial, co-founder and CEO of TangentVector. “They understand what we’re trying to achieve as filmmakers and are just as passionate about making something great as we are.”

Both TangentVector and Cross Creek have produced multiple projects across all major distribution channels, including limited and full series, for linear television, OTT, and streaming platforms. This partnership will cover all of these distribution channels as well as new avenues for storytelling.
